Sun, Clouds, Rain, Sunset – 8 hours in 4 mins time-lapse video

This time-lapse covers nearly 8 hours worth of time between noon and 9pm one day on our recent vacation :cool_wp:. Since it’s time-lapse, aren’t you glad you don’t have to sit through 8 hours of video! Talk about watching paint dry/grass grow/etc :eek_wp:.

During those ~ 8 hours I recorded nearly 19mins of video (1 frame being recorded every 2 seconds for those 8 hours) but I compressed that even further and got down to about 4.5 mins.

So I think you’ll enjoy seeing that about of time pass by in under 5mins. I also had a good day for it, many many clouds and varying weather rolled through, topped off by a gorgeous sunset!

This is also my first video that is the native size (that resolution from which it comes off my camera) 640×480. So that in and of itself might be worth the watch for you…at least I hope!

EDIT: Here is a smaller version…should take less time to buffer & use less CPU.
The large version pretty much maxes out my laptop (1.6G Celeron (single) and 1.5GB RAM))

Poolio – Pool Time-Lapse Video

Poolio – Pool TimeLapse Video

I thought this was going to be one of very many TLV’s from the pool but for whatever reason we didn’t make it back to the pool much after this. That all changes this week and this year though since swimming lessons start in 2 weeks. We need to get re acclimated to the water for sure!

This is my daughter and I at our neighborhood pool. This was early in the summer, one of the few times in the early part of the summer where it was not raining.

The opening part where we look like we are doing deep knee bends, I am actually splashing water onto the concrete, trying to subdue a fire ant mound and trail. There was a massive fire ant trail leading to the awning where it just so happened to be a birds nest. I;m not sure if the ants perpetrated the nest but I certainly didn’t want them to have a easy time of it. Yes, I hate fire ants! I tried to get some video of them but I did not have a suitable tri-pod with me. In fact this video was shot from our beach towel on top of a picnic table.

I think next year I will invest on an underwater housing for the camera and then go back on a busier day, that would be fun to watch I bet! The only problem is that the housing for this particular camera costs nearly as much as the camera itself! I might just get a housing, suited for another camera but usable with mine. That way I can still do video, I just won’t be able to actuate the shutter to take individual pictures.

Pilot to Co-pilot – Timelapse video of airplane take off

Written by timsdd on Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 in Time Lapse Video.

Well, with the recent additions to our family (twin girls) this may very have been our last airplane flight for a good 3 or 4 years. Traveling with one baby was hard enough in and of itself. SO I am glad/fortunate that I took this video while I had the chance! :)

On to the video…I actually have a new Targus Grypton Tripod now, I might have been able to use this on the flight to get smoother video and longer durations. As it was I hand held all of this time-lapse which at times was 10mins to 30mins at a time! I think the longest clip was at least 20mins, not sure if it was an entire 30mins. Needless to say it is very hard to hold something that still for that long!

Finally! A great video service that does not lego-ify my timelapse videos. YT is the worst, MC&MySp are better but Clipmoon from what I can tell blows them out of the water!

So here we are on our vacation…let me tell you, filming a time lapse from the seat of your airline seat is no small feat. Every single bump (and believe me there are hundreds if not thousands of them), are amplified due to the timelapse process.

But at least the video quality is great!!!
