Sun, Clouds, Rain, Sunset – 8 hours in 4 mins time-lapse video

This time-lapse covers nearly 8 hours worth of time between noon and 9pm one day on our recent vacation :cool_wp:. Since it’s time-lapse, aren’t you glad you don’t have to sit through 8 hours of video! Talk about watching paint dry/grass grow/etc :eek_wp:.

During those ~ 8 hours I recorded nearly 19mins of video (1 frame being recorded every 2 seconds for those 8 hours) but I compressed that even further and got down to about 4.5 mins.

So I think you’ll enjoy seeing that about of time pass by in under 5mins. I also had a good day for it, many many clouds and varying weather rolled through, topped off by a gorgeous sunset!

This is also my first video that is the native size (that resolution from which it comes off my camera) 640×480. So that in and of itself might be worth the watch for you…at least I hope!

EDIT: Here is a smaller version…should take less time to buffer & use less CPU.
The large version pretty much maxes out my laptop (1.6G Celeron (single) and 1.5GB RAM))

You are right. The quality is much better here than at YT, but it’s a little slower too. :(

    Vibrant colours though.

Yeah, you trade off speed for pixels but that’s something I am willing to do…artistic integrity and all that :-D
You know what your problem is though…being 4K miles away :-P

[...] This is another noon to sunset timelapse video. I somehow managed to get better metering (on the camera) this time with the clouds. You can see a lot more definition in them than last time. [...]

To you, O LORD, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary. (Psalm 28:1-2, ESV)
