North Springfield Dam, Eureka Schoolhouse, Black River Photos

In all my years living in Springfield (VT), I don’t think I had ever been inside the Eureka Schoolhouse!
Pretty on the outside and pretty interesting on the inside. I can’t imagine spending an entire school day in one single room though but it’s still a lot better than what many have available to them today I suppose.
Check out the stars on that flag!
More Black River pictures. I would have liked to explore the river further but as is often the case time was a factor.
As you can see from the swaying flowers, it was windy! It made several of my shots too blurry as my Dad’s tri-pod is not very sturdy when it is fully extended.
Don’t think of it as river scum, think of it as swirling river foam :)
While this one is actually just the moving water…no foam involved ;-)
I thought for sure the North Springfield Dam would have been constructed after the great flood of 1927 but my Dad said not until the 60′s!
I think it would have been amazing to see it as high as the emergency overflow though I cannot recall a time when it was ever that high.
