Finger painting without the finger(s) – A lesson in splattering

Written by timsdd on Thursday, February 16th, 2012 in Photography.

I have more of these than I thought! My only lament @ this point is that they were all taken on the Canon 40D instead of the 5DMII. Reason being is that I have yet to purchase a remote trigger for the 5D. The much larger file size would come in handy for a lot of reasons, primarily helpful for the ones that I crop…though that number is roughly < 8.8857% of the photos.

Some of these are really starting to take shape :p Quite literally. I see a lot of them where it looks like there are paint stick figures if you will and a couple of times it looks like there are a pair of them and they are dancing...maybe it's just me!

You tell me!, what do you see????

Paint Drips – Macro Paint Sculptures II

Written by timsdd on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 in Photography.

By this point I think I switched primarily to the orange paint that I had that was much more fluid than the other 2 colors I had been using. It really made the paint bounce! It was a lot more messy though that I can assure you. I still plan to pot a pic of the setup too once I find it on my HDD again :-)

Paint Drips – Macro Paint Sculptures

Written by timsdd on Saturday, February 11th, 2012 in Photography.

I thought it was time to reveal the track I am using for these paint sculptures….appropriately titled “Drips”!

The song is an instrumental version of a track that was used on an auto commercial, I forget which; maybe Audi.
So I am most thankful for the person who put this track together as it is LOADS better than the one with vocals (no offense to the singer).

The good thing about using the same song over and over, I pretty much know when the beat is going to DROP! Though I have to wonder if using different songs would produce slightly different formations. Have yet to test that.
