Water drops #9, formations, and shapes!

Written by timsdd on Monday, October 24th, 2011 in Water Drops.

POST! ifyulle notice the colors, most of them were added in post but you can go along ways to aid that process by adding different lights when you shoot the drops.

In this case I was only using one light source, camera left flash. But there were a few times I added a color to shoot through and that enabled me to get funky in PS.

Water drops, formations, and shapes!

Written by timsdd on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 in Water Drops.

Crops trying to come and snatch my drops!

Yet another version of water drops. This time I had to do the drops by hand, I tried a new bottle but it totally was not working! That’ll teach me for trying new things :-)

I know some of these are OOF, the 1st one for instance but I couldn’t help myself as my face is the BG!

here’s a near home run but it’s got FAIL. I wanted to show the drop creating a pocket in the water though on this and another one too.

Canon 50/1.4 – Christmas Lights!!

Written by timsdd on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011 in Canon 50 mm - F/1.4 - Canon EF.

This was an experiment that ended in a completely different manner from what I had intended.
The result is very close to what I had envisioned, the lights, colors, shapes, etc.

What I did not expect….DIRTY LENS! wow. I think it’s b/c I used a small aperture, the smallest and that’s why every nook, dust particle, and spot showed up! You know what, it’s the opposite, LARGE aperture, F/1.4….I am wondering if it’s a dirty lens for the imperfections in the lights themselves. Never mind me thinking out loud!

Clearly I am left with more questions than answers! Something that bears revisiting I can see already :-)
