Enter another pleasant surprise subject, my electric shaver foil. It turned out some really interesting shots!

I was able to use DOF and lighting it differently also afforded me some more opportunities in post (colors).

I had to think a moment about this one, at first I thought it was the cassette again but in fact, it is a prescription bottle…the edge of where the cap would screw on…hard to picture I know.

This looks like wood, I guess in large part due to the color but it’s actually envelopes, the edges of them.

This the plastic portion of a flashlight, more of a directional light actually; has a ‘bendy’ head.

This is a small spiky ball…reminds me of a hairbrush!

This is door edging, weather stripping.

This is a toy, I know that much! I’m pretty sure it’s a plastic slinky.

This was a hard one to give slues to. It’s a glade air fresheners that has died up and cracked.

The pvc primer brush. This one was a disappointment. One of those times where the final product did not equal what you set out to create. I think it’s just the brush itself…it just looks a lot more interesting from a regular point of view instead of a super macro. Oh well. I thought it might be sweet like the SOS pad.

Stained Glass Cookie! One of my favs as I have already said, but this time with a few more shots to explore.

I guess they call it ‘stained glass’ b/c the yellow/orange parts you see is actually translucent. Made it really nice to be able to light it from underneath and therefore show the great details and textures it has.

More toothpicks, just regular colored ones this time and in B&W even.

These next two subjects emphasize a point, that if I did not beleive before, I sure do now.

That being, I need to take a wide (pull back) shot of the macros I take so that I know what I am looking at some 2 years later! Plus, it’s nice to show you what very small section you are looking at for a given subject. Often times even after I tell people the answer, they still don’t “see it”.

That being said, I believe this next one is “Cheerio Dust”, that being the fine particles leftover from a empty box of Cheerios.

By the same token, I am “pretty sure” that this is a pvc cement brush, the primer actually hence the purple tint.

Pooh! You’re looking at a diaper with him on it! Great colors right, I was loving them.

This was the screw in strap for a REALLY cheap mp3 player.

While none of them really stand out to me, I found that there were a plethora of angles to explore. Sometimes you just have to try a bunch and see what sticks. During the guessing game it’s helpful to have additional angles as well so that you can help the process, that being the guessing. Having been on the other end of the game myself, I know how hard it can be at times! Most of the time, who am I kidding :-D

This was a tough one to give hints to. Looks like bubbles, actually it’s the packing foam that comes with HDD’s, hard disk drives. Not a lot of variance from frame to frame, the challenge is to light it differently.
