Too bad there wasn’t a land vantage point of this shot of downtown Austin. It would look really sweet @ night.

No idea where this is, I wonder if I could find it on the google maps.

This shot was killed by the sky and the lateness of the day, all the more reason I want to hit these during the day sometime.

Star flight. I think it was in our view no more than 2 seconds. We’re going ~? 150, he too and in opposite directions that really closes fast!

UT! I thought I only had one good shot of the entire University of Texas campus but this one is quite good as well if not better than the one I already posted. THere is still some distortion on the right but less than the previous pic I think.

I wanted to try something different towards the end. Hopefully you went get ‘motion’ sickness from some of them :P

The technique is simple if you have a zoom lens and a tri-pod. Make a long exposure and while the shutter is open move the focal length from 24-70 (or whatever it may be). Many times it comes up with a cool effect, sometimes not but it’s fun with digital to experiment like this. Not something I would have tried very often when shooting film.

I will admit, the effect is kind of uneasy on the eyes but I thought the contrasts between the darker surroundings and the brightness of the leaves would make for some cool zoom drags.

See the column(s) on the right hand side….they actually have rules for people not to stand on them during photo events….which of course means some poeple have actually tried to cling to those thing while taking pics!! That would be like standing on less than the size of a CD!!

The picture on the right hand side look much different than the other b/c it’s a HDR, but not a true HDR. It is a HDR created from one RAW file, which while usable, is not optimal. I wanted to try it though if for no other reason to see if a return trip with HDR in mind would be in order.

Lots of create windows like this in the Parish – most of the wide shots do not do them justice so I had to make sure I got at least one true shot of the great works of art.

This one and the one prior were taken with my TSE lens, I love how this one turned out…something you would not be able to achieve with any other lens.
