Scenic Vermont Pictures – Perkinsville

Written by timsdd on Saturday, November 21st, 2009 in Vermont Pictures.

These were taken just below the Perkinsville covered bridge, right off Upper Falls Rd

The bridge was under construction that year (2007) so I do not have any shots of it! But I did manage to get quite a few good one of the river below, (looking west).

This rock stood out from the crowd that is for sure. One thing was for certain, I could not pass it up!

Claremont NH Foliage Pictures – Sugar River

Written by timsdd on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 in Photography, Vermont Pictures.

Here is a great example of how DOF plays an important role in pictures you take.
These are the same images but usi8ng different Depth of Field:

Taken @ F/16
Red Bush

Taken @ F/4
Red Bush

In this case (and many like it) the shot taken @ F/4 is a better image because the larger aperture softens the background. You have to find a balance though, too shallow and your subject might not be in focus (enough).

The next is a series of shots that I took from reflection in the Sugar River right outside Claremont NH

Claremont NH Foliage Pictures

All of the next images are HDR’s. I really like them because they bring out a rich vibrant color and I am ALL about deep color saturation with my work.

The only downside with HDR’s is that the images tend to get a little noisy and of course you have to take that many more shots. You can actually do HDR’s from a single RAW file but you get much better results using 3-5 images, being able to cover a much larger range in terms of tone (exposure).

I just love these brick buildings, you just don’t se them down here in TX like this.

I did a little PS’ing her with this image. There was an ugly storm drain and some concrete & rusty cables, I had to lose them!

I was loving the way the light backlit the web for this guy. It’s like an electric web!
