(K)night Rider – Night Driving Time Lapse Video

Written by timsdd on Monday, June 30th, 2008 in Time Lapse Video.

The night rides are fun and interesting but I think the camera is severely limited in low light and therefore they do not come out as good as I would hope. I think it would be ok in different circumstances like a busy downtown area, or a place with lots of exterior lights.

I’ll have to do some more experimenting though since this is basically my only nighttime shot to date.

My first night drive but definitely not my last. I was actually planning on going all the way downtown to the state capital but construction on the interstate put me behind schedule, so I had to pull a u-turn instead :(

The hard part is/was showing it to be bright enough in those areas that are not that well lit. So far I have found that it’s a lot harder to alter video than it is pictures in terms of exposure. There is a lot less latitude obviously, especially consideing the thriftiness of my equipment. Now I know why prosumer camcorders run in the several thousands of $$.

I think it came out pretty decent. Just have to remember to stay to those places that have a lot of street lights :D

Slide, Walk, Crawl, Repeat – Playground Time Lapse Video

Slide, Walk, Crawl, Repeat – Playground Time Lapse Video

I think I described this one pretty well so I don’t have much to add, other than I haven’t been back to shoot another version. We’ve been at the same mall at least a couple of times but our daughter is getting too old for the small playground and or there are just too many kids there when we visit.

Why the mall only has one play grond is beyond me. It is Texas afterall, a lot of parents go to the mall just to escape the long summer heat!

I shot this at the mall several months ago I would have liked to used a different camera angle but I didn’t figure many parents would like the fact that I was taping their children! I was here with my daughter and she had a blast as always.

In a rare move though, I think she actually requested to leave whereas the standard operating procedure usually dictates that I have to pull her away from the fun! But not to worry, I usually let her roll a good 2-3 hours before I pull the plug.

Rock a Bye Baby ~ Baby swing timelapse video

Rock a Bye Baby ~ Baby swing timelapse video

This was one of those, after I saw it I was like hey, now that’s kind of disturbing! Of course the swing was moving at normal speed but b/c of the time-lapse video it just looks freaky.

I think a funny one would be to have each baby in a swing, do the time-lapse and then dub in racing sounds :p

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12, ESV)
