Canon 50/1.4 – Christmas Lights!!

Written by timsdd on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011 in Canon 50 mm - F/1.4 - Canon EF.

This was an experiment that ended in a completely different manner from what I had intended.
The result is very close to what I had envisioned, the lights, colors, shapes, etc.

What I did not expect….DIRTY LENS! wow. I think it’s b/c I used a small aperture, the smallest and that’s why every nook, dust particle, and spot showed up! You know what, it’s the opposite, LARGE aperture, F/1.4….I am wondering if it’s a dirty lens for the imperfections in the lights themselves. Never mind me thinking out loud!

Clearly I am left with more questions than answers! Something that bears revisiting I can see already :-)

TiMACROfied — Extreme Macro Photography: UNKNOWN!!

Written by timsdd on Tuesday, October 18th, 2011 in Extreme Macro Photography.

[SAD] I shot these so long ago I can only vaguely recall as to what they are! [/SAD]

The trap I fell into this summer and really for most of the year is trying to be more productive in terms of monetizing my photography and short of that I didn’t want to get bogged down in the fun side of it, which is wrong! Then you just stop shooting altogether = a crime.

So like with everything underneath the sun and or moon, you need to find a good balance. Easier said than done but I am willing to try more better and harder :p

Canon 50/1.4 – recent outdoor excursion!!!

Written by timsdd on Monday, October 3rd, 2011 in Canon 50 mm - F/1.4 - Canon EF.

Loving the fact that it is no longer 108°F! I think even the 100° days are over and done with by and large….woo-hoo! Now we just need some rain!!! (large time)

Went for a little scouting trip for photos on Sunday. I am going to be shooting a senior session @ this park and wanted to make sure it was viable even though I had been there last year. A few things caught my eye and what better lens to have with me than my Canon 50mm 1.4!

DOF:30!

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12, ESV)
