TiMACROfied — Extreme Macro Photography: paint pen, chalk, trackball, switch, cheerio
Written by timsdd on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 in Extreme Macro Photography.
This is a gold paint pen, a great subject to both use and photograph. It presented a big challenge trying to light it though, as you can imagine it is QUITE reflective. It did offer a large number of shots to use various DOF’s & POF’s though. I was sure to explore it as much as I could.
The other part of the pen, I used it on several objects to make them more interesting, one below being a case in point, adding color to the metal part of a clothespin.
Chalk! Standard thin size, not the jumbo sidewalk variety. As you can see, one of them fills the frame! For that reason, I bet it would be worth a revisit with the std macro lens, possibly coupled with the extension tubes.
Found this guy outside, a bird eggshell; barn swallow (we have a nest out our back door).
Some sort of push button switch. I can’t recall at this time what it was from.
The trackball from our mouse.
Fruity cheerio
regular cheerio, added light by using a laser pointer.
painted clothes pin…fresh with BOKEH!
Light was using a flash light that is very ‘cold’
more chalk, looks more like a rock
