This is a gold paint pen, a great subject to both use and photograph. It presented a big challenge trying to light it though, as you can imagine it is QUITE reflective. It did offer a large number of shots to use various DOF’s & POF’s though. I was sure to explore it as much as I could.

The other part of the pen, I used it on several objects to make them more interesting, one below being a case in point, adding color to the metal part of a clothespin.

Chalk! Standard thin size, not the jumbo sidewalk variety. As you can see, one of them fills the frame! For that reason, I bet it would be worth a revisit with the std macro lens, possibly coupled with the extension tubes.

This is a plant leaf, like an ivy of some sort. I do not even recall where I procured said leaf, but you’ve got to love the purple/green combo.

misc wires; DOF!

This one is definitely salt. Got some good cubes that I was able to grow from this batch. I’ve set out to grow them on several occasions, all end up quite different.

I need to throw some new variables in there and see what I can come up with….going to need to buy more salt though!

I can’t remember if this is salt or sugar! 1st one makes me want to say salt b/c the crystals are more varied in shape and size. 2nd one looks more like sugar to me. I have taken some sugar shots off cinnamon and sugar toast. Right now I am leaning 70% salt, 30% sugar.

No question what the next few are, Fruity Pebbles! As you can see, not many pebbles actually make it into the frame! Made for a nice colored and textures shot(s) though.

Napkins…added contrast but as you can see, the ones made form recycled material really have a lot going on in them.

This is some sort of coil, from the DSL modem again I think. 1st shot = SHALLOW DOF! about as shallow as you can get. I love the way it wraps itself around and down the right side of the coil.
