Austin Texas Live Music Pictures: In Flames

I had never heard of these guys, not surprisingly if you’ve been following along.

IN FLAMES are a national act though as I have seen them on many tour listings and the like. I’m not sure how big or small their fan base is, my point basically was that they are not just a small (local ) act.

The photographers/bouncers area had been crushed prior to them going on stage. You know those plywood barriers just don’t stand up to THE MOSH! So I had to shoot from the back & side! Hence the much different angles than a normal shoot!

Lowry hails from Brooklyn, NY…which in and of itself is cool IMO (Beastie Boys are from there as well)

I actually spoke to one of them for a a little bit (the girl in the first pic). She introduced herself to me which was unexpected b/c it’s usually the other way around. I have to tell them who I am, if I even have any interaction with them at all.

Good music, not my type as usual but it was a good show. The lead singer was really into it as I think you’ll see from a few of the photos of him hopping around :)

Cruiserweight seems to be a bit of an Austin favorite. They have a good following and have been around for several years now. I think they just released a new CD too!

I am not certain if the lead singer when I shot these is the same as they have now. The one that I shot was quite entertaining and or personable with the crowd. She had a great stage presence and was fun to watch.
